DESIGN GUIDELINES:
Newlands Estate aesthetic is based on the Cape Vernacular Design and largely leaves the interpretation and imagination to the home owner within the framework of the Estate Guidelines.
Cape Vernacular refers to the authentic, locally-derived architectural style of the Western Cape region, evolving from the arrival of settlers in the 17th century up until the present, adapted to the environment and culture. It represents a continuity of cultural heritage whilst also responding to new needs and technologies, often seen in a blend of classic and contemporary design.
BUILDING REQUIREMENTS:
Newlands Estate allows the home owner the freedom to choose their own Architect and NHBRC and BBIC approved Builder, as well as a period of 5 years to complete their home from initial date of first registration of transfer of the plot. There is access to an approved Architect and Builder to assist with building queries, plans & quotes.
